Dr. McMurdo’s office stopped placing amalgam (mercury/silver) fillings in 1994. For the past 20 years we have only provided non-mercury tooth coloured restorations. This has been a focus of our office and we are proficient at providing this service.
When restoring a tooth, the decay and any old filling material is carefully removed in preparation for the new restoration. We use the best dental bonding systems and composites available. This procedure requires a great deal of skill and knowledge. Dr. McMurdo is very particular about how these restorations are placed.
Proper brushing and flossing can reduce the risk of further tooth decay. It also is important to receive timely dental attention to prevent the decay from spreading further inside the tooth.
